What do we loose when we forget a memory? What is gone when the bonds with our past are severed? “Remembrance” is the pessimistic answer to this and other questions, a reflection about memory, remembrance and oblivion, how lost we are when we cut our connections with Nature, the past and ultimately, with our deepest selves. And how a glimpse of this bond remains, in the dreams, in the visions, in the heart of some.
Initially self-released in 2019, “Remembrance” showed Karnnos exploring new territories, with bass-driven tracks, subtle layers of guitars, keyboards and flutes, tribal-like percussion, with a rich sonic palette given by instruments such as the hurdy gurdy, the harp, the zither, the rabel, the metallophone or the accordion. The pace of the record is slow, the tone is somber, like a nocturnal journey through the ruins of nature and memory.
